Time Management for the Busy Creative

The holidays are here (whether we're set or non!) and, for many of you, now is that fourth dimension that it all happens at once: holiday gatherings, family, actress shopping. Additionally, if you accept a creative business, this is likely you're busiest flavor.
Here are my tips for staying sane this holiday season AND for getting the really of import things done:
- Say no to social media: I learned this trick from the lovely Erin Loechner — Social media sites similar twitter and facebook should exist used to connect and promote. That's it. Having a difficult time saying no? Attempt putting limits on your social media fourth dimension: kickoff with xv minutes twice a day, and see how much else you are actually able to get done. Bonus: you might just surprise yourself with how little you miss.
- Do equally much as possible as early every bit possible: Are you lot already dreading addressing your holiday cards? Make life as easy every bit possible for yourself by press address labels At present. Who cares that your cards aren't fix? Once you go them picked out and back home, getting them into the mail service will be easy peasy!
- Follow the flow of like shooting fish in a barrel: Think you take to cook Thanksgiving dinner for 14 people and entertain the kids and host your family all past yourself? Let people aid yous! I repeat: Let PEOPLE Help YOU! There are so many people in this world who are fix to love and support y'all…all you take to do is ask.
- Learn to distinguish the good from the great: Now is non the fourth dimension to say yes to every opportunity that comes your way. An invite to a holiday party that sounds fun only that you aren't feeling 100% most? You lot've got other plans. The adventure to cook for the school's annual bake auction when you've got etsy orders piling up? Distressing, merely not this year. You tin can help in Feb. If you're willing to commit to only saying yes to those things that actually make yous silly, you'll find that you'll non simply have more time to get your things washed, merely that you'll likewise really dear the things yous say yes to.
Remember, during the holidays, time is just as valuable a resource as money and it's up to you to spend information technology wisely. (Hint: you have a choice. Yous always take a choice)
